Isolated mode
The same PDF tools, in a stricter page. Your documents are processed in your browser either way; isolated mode also removes everything else that talks to other sites, and your browser enforces it.
This is not your browser's private window
Isolated mode does not hide your history or delete cookies — that is what your browser's private (incognito) window does. It limits what this page itself may connect to. You can use both together.
Tools available in isolated mode
- Inspect PDFFind metadata, comments, hidden text, attachments and earlier versions in a PDF and remove them — right in your browser.
- Redact PDFPermanently black out text in a PDF — draw boxes or find words, emails and phone numbers. The hidden text is really removed.
- Safe Share PDFOne guided flow: inspect hidden data, redact, clear metadata, flatten, watermark, encrypt — then check the result and keep its fingerprint.
- PDF MetadataSee, edit or wipe the title, author and producer stored inside a PDF — right in your browser.
- Protect PDFAdd an AES-256 open password to a PDF and restrict printing, copying and editing.
- PDF EditorAdd text boxes, highlights, redaction boxes, and shapes to any PDF page — right in your browser, no upload.
- Compare PDFSee what changed between two PDF versions — word by word with page numbers, plus page-by-page visual differences.
- Rotate PDFRotate single pages or the whole PDF by 90°, 180° or 270° — the turn is saved in the file.
- Delete PDF PagesRemove the pages you don't need by clicking them or typing page numbers.
- Extract PDF PagesPick pages and save them as a new PDF — in document order or the order you choose.
- Rearrange PDF PagesDrag pages into a new order, reverse the document or move pages with the arrow buttons.
- Remove Blank PagesFind empty pages in scans automatically, check them and remove them in one go.
- Pages per Sheet (N-up)Put 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 16 PDF pages on each sheet to save paper when printing.
- PDF Booklet MakerReorder and pair pages so a printed, folded stack reads like a booklet.
- Alternate & Mix PDFCombine separately scanned front and back pages into one correctly ordered PDF.
- Grayscale PDFTurn a colour PDF into grayscale for printing — text stays selectable.
What changes in isolated mode
- A content security policy tells your browser to block every connection, script, frame and form submission to any other site. The page can only load from this site.
- No ads, no visit statistics and no sign-in scripts are loaded.
- Peer-to-peer connections (WebRTC) are switched off before the page starts.
- Page translation, spell checking and DNS prefetching are turned off, and no referrer is sent.
- The pages are not indexed by search engines.
What isolated mode cannot block
- Browser extensions can read any page you open; disable them if that matters.
- Your browser's own services (for example malicious-site checks or sync) work outside the page.
- Turning off WebRTC is done by a script, not by the security policy; very old browsers may not respect it.
- Your device, operating system and anything that captures the screen are outside the browser's control.
- Once you download a file, it is an ordinary file on your device.
- In the editor, choosing another font (or a document that needs a serif or monospaced font) downloads that font file from this site at that moment; your document is not sent.
Questions
- Is isolated mode the same as incognito?
- No. Incognito (your browser's private window) does not keep history or cookies after you close it. Isolated mode controls what this page may connect to while it is open. They do different jobs and work well together.
- Are my files uploaded in normal mode?
- No. Every PDF tool on this site processes files in your browser. Isolated mode adds a browser-enforced guarantee that the page cannot connect to other sites, and removes ads and statistics.
- Why are only some tools here?
- These are the tools most used for sensitive documents. Tools that need extra data from other sites cannot work under the strict policy.
- How do I leave?
- Use “Leave isolated mode” at the top. It opens the same tool in normal mode; documents open here are not carried over.
How to check it yourself
- Open the developer tools (F12) and go to the Network tab; reload the page.
- Click the page request and look at the Response Headers: Content-Security-Policy lists 'self' as the only allowed source.
- Use a tool: every request goes to this site, and none carries your document.
- Or turn off your connection after the page loads — the tools keep working.
